ACCO is the professional home of every Certified Compliance Officer (CCO) — the credential conferred to graduates of the Certification Course for Compliance Officers, organized by the Center for Global Best Practices (CGBP).

One title. One community. One standard of practice.

The professional body behind the CCO® title.

The Association of Certified Compliance Officers (ACCO) is the officially recognized professional association for individuals who have earned the Certified Compliance Officer (CCO) designation through CGBP’s Certification Course for Compliance Officers. Both the “CCO” and “ACCO” marks are registered with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPO), protecting the integrity of the title and the standards it represents.

ACCO exists to give CCOs a permanent professional identity beyond the classroom — a body that upholds the credibility of the certification, connects practitioners across industries, and keeps members current as compliance regulations, risk frameworks, and governance standards evolve in the Philippines and the region.

Membership in ACCO is exclusive to individuals who have completed the Certification Course for Compliance Officers and hold the CCO title. This exclusivity is intentional: it ensures that everyone who carries the ACCO name has met the same rigorous standard.

CCO badge — Certified Compliance Officer

The Certified Compliance Officer (CCO) credential began in 2019, when the Center for Global Best Practices (CGBP) fully organized the Certification Course for Compliance Officers to address a growing need in the Philippine business community: a formal, standardized way to train and certify professionals responsible for regulatory compliance, corporate governance and risk management.

Under the leadership of Atty. Allesandra Fay V. Albarico, D.C.L, the course was built to equip participants with practical, best-practice-based compliance skills — and to confer a credential that employers could trust. Graduates earned the right to use the title “Certified Compliance Officer” (CCO), a mark that CGBP subsequently registered with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines, together with the ACCO mark, to protect the standard the credential represents.

As the number of CCO graduates grew across banking, insurance, real estate, BPO, manufacturing, and government sectors, the need for a unifying professional body became clear. ACCO was established to formally organize this growing community — giving CCOs a permanent professional home, a network of peers who share the same standard of training, and a platform to continue growing as the compliance landscape in the Philippines evolves.

Today, ACCO carries forward the mission that CGBP began in 2019: building and protecting a trusted, professional compliance workforce for the Philippines.
